CLINICAL ANATOMY - Course description

Clinical Anatomy Course - Elements of Surgery and Radiology

The course provides the students with basic knowledge of radiological anatomy,
reasoning for application of particular modalities depending on the clinical setting,
basic ultrasound manual skills, as well as utilization of CT/MRI workstation.

Description of the course components:
S – Seminar: students will discuss the anatomical basis of the radiological examinations. Anatomical planes and directions will be reviewed.
A – module A: surgical anatomy of the liver and bile system. Cholelithiasis. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
B – module B: surgical anatomy of the antero-lateral abdominal wall. Inguinal canal and inguinal hernias.
C – module C: surgical anatomy of the stomach, small and large intestine. Sleeve gastrectomy and sigmoidectomy.
U1: module U1: ultrasound anatomy of the abdominal cavity.
U2: module U2: ultrasound anatomy of the pelvic cavity. Introduction to FAST protocol.
CT: module CT: anatomy of the head, thorax, abdomen, and pelvis in the CT examination.
